Cooking Classes
Choose a class from our Available Classes page and register online. You can also call us at 614-547-7804.
All sales are final and non-refundable. Cancellations must be requested at leat 48 hours before your scheduled class; you will receive a credit equal to the full amount of your purchase. You may also invite someone you know to take your place.
We welcome cooks at all skill levels. Our chef and staff are there to ensure that everyone in the class is comfortable, learning something, and having fun!
Classes typically run for 2 hours. Our classes are limited to 12 guests to ensure that our chefs can give individuals proper attention and provide everyone with plenty of hands-on experience.
A generous tasting portion of each recipe will be served at the end of the class. You will not leave hungry!
You do not need to bring anything with you. All equipment and ingredients are provided, along with aprons and knives. We have containers for leftovers. Just come ready to cook, learn, and have fun!
Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. We will provide an apron for you.
Please let us know if you have a food allergy at least seven days in advance. You can do this by adding it to your notes when you sign up for class, or you can call or email us at info@therecipeco.com with the information. We will make the necessary accommodations so that you have a great experience and plenty to eat.

There’s parking located directly behind our building. The driveway is just north of The Recipe on Liberty Street, and next to Board & Brush (which is in the red building). There’s also a public parking lot just north of our neighbors, Board & Brush.
If you enjoyed your experience, our chefs and kitchen assistants would appreciate the gesture. You have an option to tip in advance, during checkout, or after class, with cash or credit.
You may bring only non-alcoholic beverages with you. However, we have wine and beer available for purchase, and many of our classes include wine and/or beer. Please check the class listing for details.
We typically release new classes about 45 days in advance. To be informed when new classes are posted, please join our email list. You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay in the know.
Kids’ Classes
We offer kids’ classes monthly. We have two types of events: Kids Only and Cooking with Kids. You can learn more on our cooking classes page.
We require kids to be at least 8 years old for Kids Only classes and 5 years or older for the Cooking with Kids class.
Adults are welcome to stay for the Kids Only classes, but will not be able to participate in the cooking or enjoy the meal.
Our classes are small, so everyone is able to work and eat with each other during class.
We can schedule private kids’ cooking classes on available weeknights only, starting at 6 p.m. (Monday to Thursday). Menus and pricing are available on request—just complete the form on our Private Classes page.
Private Events
Typically we book our private events 60 days in advance. Please fill out our inquiry form on our Private Classes page to get started, and we’ll reach out to you shortly to look at the schedule and discuss menu options. Please note that a $200 deposit is required to schedule the private event.
We require two weeks’ notice for any cancellations to receive a refund of your $200 deposit.
An 18% gratuity is added for all private events.
We do not allow outside alcohol for our private events.
We require a minimum of 12 guests for a private event, with a maximum of 18 guests.

Kids are welcome for private events. If they are going to participate or eat, they would be considered a guest for the event at full price.
We can schedule a private kids’ cooking class on Monday through Thursday at 6 p.m. Menus and pricing are available on request—just complete the inquiry form on our Private Classes page.
In-Home Events

All of our in-home events are customized specifically for you and your guests. Our chef will work with you personally to collaborate on the menu and provide you with a quote for your in-home experience.
No, gift certificates may be used only for events at our location in Powell.
We do not provide any place settings for the table; however, we can provide serving platters and utensils, if requested.
Gift Certificates
When checking out, you’ll have the option to provide the multi-digit code located at the bottom of your gift certificate.
Our average cost of a class is $80 per person. Prices vary based on the menu and whether alcohol is included.
You can purchase a gift certificate on our website. When you do so, you will receive an email confirmation. You can choose to send the gift certificate to yourself to print or have it directly sent to the lucky recipient on a chosen date with a personal note.
We have physical gift cards for purchase at The Recipe. Please call in advance to ensure that someone will be on site to assist you.
All gift certificates, once purchased, are non-refundable.
